X Marketing

The last two blogs we have talked about Instagram and Facebook, both massive platforms owned by Meta. Today we will be discussing Twitter, or what is now X. I have been a big fan of X for most of my life, using it as a resource to get all the news I needed on various topics I followed such as sports, gaming, and comedy. X is also a great source of news when it comes to current events. X allows users to see live events and all relevant tweets for that event. This is one of my favorite features as it allows me to follow along in real time with news from real people. X has recently gone through many changes other than the name, such as audio and video calling, X Hiring, and even an AI assistant called Grok. Another new change is their investment into advertising and digital creators.

Since Elon Musk purchased and rebranded what is now X, he has put lots of emphasis on advertising and the creator program. X has already started to invest in creators and partnerships to incentivize users to use and advertise on the platform. As of a few days ago, Elon and X announced there would be further profit for creators that use the platform through a revenue sharing system. This along with the fact that X has aligned advertisements with an organic algorithm to increase engagements by 22%. X also uses similar demographic targeting to Instagram or Facebook, as it seems that is the new standard. Even though X is only twelfth in social media platforms, the tools provided make X a destination platform for creators.

Even with all these enhancements to the app, Elon and new CEO Linda Yaccarino still plan on adding plenty more features in the future. Elon describes his plan as making X the "everything app", as he continues to add new ways to communicate and network on the platform. I personally use X every day and cannot wait to see what the future brings for this app.
