Senior Scaries
The most common phrase you hear as an underclassman from seniors is "it goes fast so enjoy it while you can". I heard this phrase so many times I stopped believing it because I figured they were all just copying each other. Now that I am at this point, I am starting to believe what has been said over the past three years. All I ever looked forward to being was a senior for a multitude of reasons such as living with my friends, a lighter class load, and eventually getting a diploma. Now while I am still ecstatic about this year, I do want to keep in mind how fast it may go.
While I am excited for life after college, I do want to slow down and enjoy every moment of my last year. How do I plan on doing this, I have no exact plan, but I do have a few ideas. One of these ideas is to be a 'yes' person, which is an ideology that you say yes to activities that you usually would not. Doing this will allow me to not have any regrets after college of what I should have done instead of taking a nap. Another idea I had was to enjoy the little things, whether it is good or bad. I want to enjoy the good parts of college just as much as the not so enjoyable parts such as homework, studying, and working out.
Will this plan pay off by allowing me to fully enjoy my last year of college? I do not know, but only time will tell and hopefully by the end of my college career, I will have accomplished everything I set out for as well as gotten the maximum out of my education.

As a senior, I relate to this feeling! It feels like just yesterday we started our freshman year and time did move by so fast. I feel too young to be graduating college but I can't wait to start post-graduate life! I think the 'yes' idea is so smart! Being our last year, I think saying yes to as much as we can and to as many opportunities that come our way will be great to look back on after we graduate. I think there is so many good and bad of college, but taking the time to appreciate all of it, especially the little things like you stated, will eventually be such fond memories.
ReplyDeleteEven just as a junior I can relate to this. Ever since I stepped foot on campus freshman year it feels that time has only flown by. I too hope to slow down and enjoy each and every moment and hope you are able to do the same!

ReplyDeleteIt feels like just yesterday I was at freshmen orientation and now I am a junior, which is so crazy to me. I can recall in middle school, high school, and college, all the upperclassmen always saying the same thing "It goes fast so enjoy it while you can". As I find myself now to be an upperclassman, I finally understand what the upperclassmen before me mean. I hope you continue to be a 'yes' person and enjoy your senior year!
