Facebook Marketing

    One of the most popular social media platforms to both use and advertise on, is Facebook. The app created in a dorm room by a 19-year-old Mark Zuckerberg has generated an audience of 3 billion people worldwide. Now personally, I do own a Facebook account purely for looking at cheap cars on Facebook Marketplace, but there is no profile to be found. Although I do not use Facebook as most people do, it is very popular to both post and advertise on.

    Facebook has become the primary target for companies looking to advertise on social media. Facebook is a great platform to use for marketing as it is the most popular platform in the world, there is various formats for advertisements, and they even allow you to create custom audiences through their demographics. According to the Stukent textbook, Facebook advertising reached around 27% of the total population of our planet. This is a great number especially when more people are joining Facebook year over year. I also thought it was cool, especially because I don't use Facebook, that they allow you to use different formats such as videos, slides, or stories to post advertisements. I think this tool is especially useful as it allows a wide variety of companies to market their products or services as they choose. The last tool Facebook provides is their custom audiences feature which allows you to appear in feeds of a chosen demographic. Facebook allows you to customize your audience by location, gender, age, and interests. I think this feature puts Facebook above the rest when it comes to marketing on social media. 

    Although I do not use Facebook myself, I enjoyed learning the different ways to enjoy the platform. I also learned how to use the many tools Facebook provides for marketing your brand. Overall, Facebook is a great platform to for many reasons including personal use, creating a brand, and advertising products and services.
